About this specimen
Warm native copper patches spread over a dark cuprite and goethite-bearing matrix. Fine metallic branches and small bright crystal faces contrast with the black rounded texture around them. A supplied ultraviolet photograph shows a blue-violet lighting response concentrated across parts of the surface. The ordinary-light view makes the copper-colored areas easiest to distinguish, while the additional image records a different lighting appearance without identifying which individual mineral produces each bright patch. Dimensions: 3.8 × 2.3 × 2.5 cm / 38 × 23 × 25 mm / 1.50 × 0.91 × 0.98 inch. Estimated weight: 67 g / 2.36 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
