About this specimen
Clear fluorite cubes loaded with ink-purple phantoms perch across a bed of snow-white quartz points — the violet sealed inside each crystal in soft, smoke-like patches, as if a drop of ink had been captured mid-swirl. Three larger cubes carry the show, smaller crystals tucked along the margins.
The white quartz understory is what makes the purple read so loudly. Yaogangxian combinations with this much built-in contrast photograph well and look even better in person, where the phantoms shift with every angle of light.
