About this specimen
Large pale calcite faces form a narrow upright tower above a more finely textured mineral base. Angular cream-colored crystals overlap through the upper half, with smaller points clustered around their edges. Pyrite and quartz are recorded in the supporting association. From the second angle, the tower appears deeper and several broad faces project forward from its center. The brighter upper calcite contrasts with the mottled gray and metallic-looking material below, giving this Shangbao piece a clear vertical emphasis.
