About this specimen
Sichuan quartz with epidote at 7.8 cm and 29 g; a small cabinet piece, priced with the damage disclosed. A slender quartz crystal tinted pale green by epidote, with a second crystal grown alongside; the supplier notes a slightly damaged floater base.
Epidote forms pistachio-green prismatic crystals, often striated, and is a classic companion of quartz and feldspar in Chinese skarn deposits.
Sichuan's alpine-type veins and skarns yield aquamarine, prehnite, epidote and scheelite of international quality.
