About this specimen
A small purple-centered fluorite form appears beside a tall clear-looking quartz point, with shorter points clustered around the base. Apatite is recorded as another associated mineral. The ordinary-light photograph gives most of the piece a pale, transparent-looking appearance, making the violet area near the upper left easy to distinguish. Under the alternate lighting shown, several small areas appear warmer and brighter. The contrasting photographs document different appearances without replacing the clear quartz outline seen in ordinary light. Dimensions: 2.8 × 2.1 × 2.6 cm / 28 × 21 × 26 mm / 1.10 × 0.83 × 1.02 inch. Estimated weight: 16 g / 0.56 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
