About this specimen

Guizhou purple-edged fluorite at 16.8 cm and 860 g; a large cabinet plate with graphic patterning.

Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.

Guizhou's Qinglong antimony-fluorite district is the classic source for creedite sprays and continues to produce zoned fluorite and calcite.

The piece is large cabinet in size, 16.8 × 10 × 4.5 cm (6.61 × 3.94 × 1.77 in) and 860 g (30.3 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.

Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
