About this specimen

One crystal carries this specimen: a metallic cube roughly 6 mm on an edge, tarnished to peacock green and bronze, wedged into the notch where two white blades part company. A second, far smaller metallic crystal sits just below and to the right of it. Everything else is chalk-white, sheathed in a fine drusy quartz coat that turns the blade faces matte wherever it has settled.

That iridescence is a surface effect — a microscopically thin tarnish film on the pyrite splitting reflected light into oil-slick greens and golds. It is fragile and it cannot be put back once removed, so keep this piece away from acids, ultrasonic baths and damp cloths alike. Pyrite itself is hard, Mohs 6 to 6.5, but the pale bladed matrix underneath is considerably softer and sets the real handling limit.

Dimensions are 3.6 × 3.3 × 3.0 cm and the weight is 40 g, mounted on the clear acrylic block pictured. What arrives is precisely what the camera recorded here, block included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
