About this specimen
Golden pyrite cubes and smaller metallic faces cover much of a broad, rough matrix. Several larger square faces stand above finer glittering growth, while an earthy brown area interrupts the metallic surface along one side. The closer view reveals the sharp boundaries between neighboring cubes and small dark gaps at their bases. Pale scattered patches appear between some crystals, but the dominant feature is the dense field of reflective golden faces across the upper surface of this Shangbao specimen. Dimensions: 12 × 6 × 9 cm / 120 × 60 × 90 mm / 4.72 × 2.36 × 3.54 inch. Estimated weight: 739 g / 26.07 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
