Chrome-bright stibnite needles fan across this Hunan specimen in colliding sprays — thousands of fine metallic rods punctuated by broader striated blades, glittering like a frozen spark shower above the dark matrix base. At 12.7 × 7.6 × 11.4 cm and 630 g it reads far larger than its numbers.
Needle-habit stibnite is the fragile end of the species: sprays this dense usually reach the market matted or snapped, and intact fans are the exception. Hunan’s antimony belt set the world standard for stibnite, and this is a characteristic piece of that story.
