A two-specimen set from Yunnan, paired for contrast: a mound of sky-blue botryoidal hemimorphite draped over grey druse like sea-foam, and a bloom of vivid magenta rhodochrosite — the electric purple-pink shade Yunnan’s recent finds made famous — rising from its own block of grey matrix.
Blue and magenta are the zinc and manganese ends of one color story, and side by side they make a display pairing no single specimen can. The hemimorphite measures about 5.6 × 3.8 × 3.8 cm at 80 g; the rhodochrosite about 5.1 × 4.3 × 4.1 cm at 65 g.
