About this specimen

Round as a river-worn ball and coloured like old bottle glass, this prehnite is a nodule rather than a crystal group: a compact, almost spherical mass whose skin is matte and faintly granular, mottled with pale cream and buff where a thin crust still clings. A shallow seam runs over one shoulder and divides the top like a stitched line.

Prehnite usually grows as radiating fibres instead of free-standing crystals, and those fibres pack outward from a centre to build the rounded botryoidal masses collectors know. Sawn open, nodules like this show that fibrous interior as a fan of fine needles; left intact, as here, the growth can only be read from the smooth, slightly bumpy exterior. At Mohs 6 to 6.5 the mineral is tougher than its soft green colour suggests.

The nodule is 3.6 cm in each direction and weighs 70 g. It arrives on the clear acrylic display block seen in the photograph, seated on a dab of white putty, and the specimen pictured is the one that will be sent.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Prehnite natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
