About this specimen
A single purple fluorite crystal rises above a rough cream-colored matrix. The crystal's upright position makes its dark violet face and sloping upper edges easy to see, while the host provides a broad, pale base. Viewed from the other side, the outline becomes more angular and the purple darkens. This compact piece emphasizes the relationship between one distinct crystal and its matrix rather than the repetition of a larger cluster. Dimensions: 2.1 × 0.9 × 1.3 cm / 21 × 9 × 13 mm / 0.83 × 0.35 × 0.51 inch. Estimated weight: 3 g / 0.11 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
