About this specimen
A tall, pale smoky quartz point with a secret: hidden white phantom pyramids inside, faint outlines of earlier tips that appear when a light is shone through, as in the two close-up photos. The colour is a light champagne smoke, and the long prism is crossed with neat horizontal striations.
The tip has been polished to a crisp, glossy point; the rest of the crystal is natural, including a smaller crystal grown against its side near the base. It is shown here on a carved wooden root-style stand for display. At this length it makes a dramatic statement piece.
