About this specimen
Guizhou creedite at 2.4 cm; a thumbnail, supplied in the display box shown. Creedite crystals in colourless to white radiate outward in a dense spiky burst, the longest prisms reaching well clear of the group and catching the light along every face.
A hydrated calcium-aluminium sulfate-fluoride, creedite is rare in good crystals, and the sparkling sprays from Guizhou are the reference material for most collections.
Guizhou is the classic source for collector creedite and hosts important fluorite, calcite and copper-mineral localities around Qinglong.
Dimensions place it in the thumbnail range, 2.4 × 2.3 × 1.3 cm (0.94 × 0.91 × 0.51 in). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
