About this specimen

Gongcheng, Guangxi, cerussite at 2.5 cm; a miniature, supplied in the display box shown. A cerussite crystal in pale peach, translucent with a high, almost oily lustre, its faces meeting in the sharp angles the species is known for.

Cerussite is lead carbonate, notable for its adamantine (diamond-like) lustre, high density and complex twinned crystals.

Gongcheng County in north-eastern Guangxi lies in the same lead-zinc belt as Daoping and produces pyromorphite, quartz and fluorite.

The piece is miniature in size, 2.5 × 2.3 × 1 cm (0.98 × 0.91 × 0.39 in). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.

Contains lead-bearing minerals: wash hands after handling and keep away from children and pets.

Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
