About this specimen
Small violet fluorite cubes appear among dark and silver-colored crystal surfaces on a compact matrix. Arsenopyrite, iron-rich sphalerite, mica and quartz accompany the fluorite in this Inner Mongolian association. The front view reveals several purple areas separated by paler reflective patches; the side view brings one larger violet crystal near the lower edge into focus. Flat faces and irregular crystalline growth overlap throughout the piece, making its small-scale mineral relationships the main visual attraction. Dimensions: 3.3 × 1.2 × 2.2 cm / 33 × 12 × 22 mm / 1.30 × 0.47 × 0.87 inch. Estimated weight: 9 g / 0.32 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
