About this specimen
Guizhou aragonite at 6 cm; a small cabinet piece. The fibres are brittle at the tips — support the piece when handling.
Aragonite grows as radiating or stacked crystals, a habit that gives the species its sculptural, coral-like look.
Guizhou's Qinglong antimony-fluorite district is the classic source for creedite sprays and continues to produce zoned fluorite and calcite.
