About this specimen
Snow-white aragonite grows as upright spires and rounded tufts out of a base of golden-yellow aragonite, so the piece is two colours of the same mineral stacked one on the other. The white spires are the eye-catcher and stand well clear of the yellow.
Two-tone aragonite from Guizhou is a distinctive local form; the piece stands on its own base. Delicate white tips: handle by the yellow base.
