Xuebaoding Scheelite for Sale

Curated by Maggie Liu · 7 specimens available

Xuebaoding, on the slopes of Mt. Pingwu in Sichuan, produces the world’s most recognizable scheelite: glowing orange, tabular bipyramidal crystals perched on silvery muscovite books, often alongside jet-black cassiterite from the same pockets. The color — somewhere between honey and tangerine — is unmistakable, and fine pieces fluoresce a soft blue-white under shortwave UV.

Value follows color saturation, transparency, and the classic association: an orange scheelite sitting naturally with cassiterite and muscovite is the textbook Xuebaoding combination. Check crystal edges for chips (the tabular corners are vulnerable) and favor pieces where the scheelite sits proud of the matrix rather than embedded.

Our curator Maggie Liu sources Xuebaoding material in person; every listed piece is the exact specimen photographed, inspected and shot under 5500K calibrated daylight.
