About Madagascarextended article

What it is known for

The island's granitic pegmatites are famous for tourmaline and beryl, including pink morganite. The sedimentary basins of the north-west around Mahajanga yield blue celestine geodes and Cretaceous ammonites, and large quartz crystals and labradorite are exported in quantity.

In our collection

Our Madagascar pieces include green fluorite that shifts colour between daylight and indoor light, celestine, quartz with hematite, and sliced ammonites from Mahajanga. Each listing shows the exact specimen photographed. Where the original label names only the country, we label it to country level rather than guess a mine.
