About this specimen
A slender, water-clear quartz prism rises like a spire above this golden Xuebaoding cluster — 10 cm of specimen crowned by one glassy point, the crystals below stained warm amber by iron-rich fluids, with aquamarine prisms and silvery mica plates tucked through the group. The honey-and-glass palette is unusual for the locality and very much this piece’s own.
Xuebaoding, in Pingwu County, Sichuan, is famous for exactly this mineral company — beryl, quartz and mica sharing pockets — and clusters that keep a tall, undamaged point through recovery are the exception rather than the rule.
It measures 6.2 × 6.1 × 10.3 cm and weighs 217 g. Natural and untreated; the photographs show the exact specimen.
