About this specimen
Yunnan double-terminated quartz at 3 cm and 6.5 g; a miniature, priced with the tip disclosed. A stout double-terminated quartz so packed with black inclusions it reads almost solid, the Shanling quartz the supplier names; the supplier notes one tip is slightly damaged.
Double-terminated quartz grew free of the wall, so both ends carry natural terminations.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
Dimensions place it in the miniature range, 1.3 × 1.1 × 3 cm (0.51 × 0.43 × 1.18 in) and 6.5 g (0.2 oz). Disclosed condition: one slightly damaged tip. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. Condition is otherwise as photographed.
