About this specimen
Golden rutile needles run through every part of this large Brazilian quartz sphere, from fine hair-like threads to thicker, glinting strands that cross one another at all angles. Under bright light the whole ball shimmers gold, and the needles seem to float at different depths in the clear, warm-toned crystal.
Look closely and you will also find a little phantom and several healed veils that catch the light like panes of glass. The polish is smooth and the sphere is substantial in the hand. Natural rutilated quartz.
