About this specimen
Yunnan veszelyite at 1.7 cm; a thumbnail, supplied in the display box shown. Veszelyite in a vivid blue crusts the upper edge of a pale green-white growth, the two colours meeting in a sharp line across the top of the piece.
Veszelyite crystals show a saturated greenish-blue that few copper minerals match, and good Chinese specimens have made the species collectable worldwide.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
By size it is thumbnail, 1.7 × 1 × 0.8 cm (0.67 × 0.39 × 0.31 in). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
