About this specimen
A broad pyrite crystal combines large reflective planes with deeply recessed areas near the upper edge. Fine vertical lines cross the smoother front, while smaller metallic forms occupy the more uneven top. The side photograph changes the reflections from pale gold to dark bronze and reveals the crystal's substantial depth. Several sharp edges remain visible around the lower half, contrasting with the interrupted, cavity-rich texture above them. Dimensions: 3.4 × 2.2 × 3 cm / 34 × 22 × 30 mm / 1.34 × 0.87 × 1.18 inch. Estimated weight: 26 g / 0.92 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
