About this specimen
Right at the heart of this clear quartz sphere hangs a small, round flake of mica, like a coin, with a thread of tinier glittering flakes trailing down beneath it. The flakes catch the light with a faint rainbow shimmer, and around them the quartz is full of fine starry glitter, a floating cotton-like mist that sparkles in sunlight.
Long curving veils swirl through the ball like wind-blown cloud, a thin golden needle runs along one edge, and from another side a slim brown inclusion and a rainbow at the rim come into view. There is one small natural pit on the surface, shown honestly in the photos. The sphere is otherwise polished and.
