About this specimen
Cream calcite forms rounded botryoidal clusters across a dark shallow matrix from Fujian. Larger pale mounds occupy the center and upper edge, while smaller spherical growth is scattered toward the sides. Fine silky reflections appear over portions of the calcite surface. The reverse shows more of the dark host and several isolated round forms, emphasizing the open spaces between clusters and the source-recorded secondary-growth character of this unusual calcite association.
