About this specimen

The purple here is nearly ink: a blocky group of intergrown fluorite cubes so saturated that light escapes only at the thin outer edges, where the colour lifts to lilac and, on one or two corners, to clear frost. The faces are stepped and shallowly etched, each block assembled from smaller squares offset by a fraction of a millimetre, with a few pinpoints of tan iron staining caught in the grooves.

Colour this deep in fluorite comes from defects in the CaF2 lattice rather than from any pigment — vacancies where fluorine should sit, trapping electrons that absorb the yellow-green half of the spectrum. Guizhou material tends to be just this: dense, dark, tightly intergrown, more architectural than gemmy. Mohs 4 and octahedral cleavage leave the corners vulnerable, so lift it from underneath rather than by an edge.

It measures 5.3 × 2.5 × 4.6 cm, weighs 115 g, and is fixed to a clear acrylic cube. What the camera caught is what leaves our hands — this cluster, on its stand.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Fluorite natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
