Soft aqua-green fluorite cubes stack across this Hunan miniature in glassy steps, and at the heart of the group a violet glow surfaces through the green — interior purple zoning that reads like light from a lamp buried inside the crystal. A crust of fine grey-green matrix minerals anchors the base.
Green-outside, purple-inside is one of Hunan fluorite’s most-loved tricks, and it needs no strong light to perform: ordinary daylight brings the violet core up through the stepped faces as the piece turns.
It measures about 8.6 × 2 × 5.6 cm and weighs 210 g, displaying on the acrylic base shown. The photographs are of the exact specimen.
