About this specimen

One lavender cube, tipped on its corner like a die frozen mid-roll, carries this small Yaogangxian specimen. It is transparent enough to read the matrix straight through, and every face is powdered with a sugary white micro-druse that softens the light while the edges hold a deeper violet. Below it, the grey matrix stub is studded with a scatter of miniature cubes in the same colour.

Colour zoning like this is a Yaogangxian signature: violet concentrated along edges and corners, thinning to nearly water-clear through the middle. In fluorite (CaF2) that purple comes from defects in the crystal lattice and trace rare-earth substitution rather than from any single pigment, and it often traces the growth front exactly. Fluorite is soft — Mohs 4, perfect octahedral cleavage — so lift the piece by its base, never by the cube.

Small but display-ready at 2.8 × 1.5 × 4.3 cm and 26 g, shown standing on the clear acrylic block it is mounted to. The specimen photographed here is the one you will receive.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?

Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.

Is this Fluorite natural?

Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.

How is it packed and shipped?

Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals. A display base is included.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
