About this specimen

A 1.4-kilogram knot of sea-green fluorite cubes, interlocked and glassy, from the Yaogangxian mine in Chenzhou, Hunan. The color sits in the uncommon band between green and blue — lagoon water rather than mint — and it deepens toward the heart of the group where several generations of cubes grew through one another. Every face is alive with stepped growth terracing, fine right-angled ledges that make the surfaces ripple under light.

Yaogangxian built its fame on purple; its bluish-green pockets were always the scarcer strike, and large transparent groups in this color class are the harder ones to replace today. This example brings together the three things that matter at cabinet scale: saturated color, glass-clear zones you can look several centimetres into, and a display face of complete, undamaged crystal on crystal.

It measures 12.4 × 12.2 × 9.4 cm and weighs 1,406 g — it fills an adult hand and holds a shelf on its own. The thick acrylic base in the photographs is included, and the images show precisely the piece that ships.
