A single fluorite cube in frosted white, its edges traced with violet, seated on a thin blade of dark green-grey matrix with a spray of small quartz crystals at its side. The interior holds a milky phantom — an earlier cube preserved inside the outer one — that appears and disappears as the light moves.
Yaogangxian is best known for saturated purple; this is the locality in a quieter mood, and the restraint suits it. One cube, one matrix blade, one quartz accent — a composition with the balance of a deliberate arrangement, entirely nature’s doing.
