About this specimen
Large dark magnetite faces rise into a broad pointed outline above an irregular lower base. A small pale calcite group projects from the front, creating a concentrated light accent against the black reflective surface. Fine lines and uneven texture cross several of the larger faces. The second angle reveals the depth of the central projection and its adjoining planes, presenting a substantial mineral specimen with source-recorded weight rather than a volume-based estimate. Dimensions: 5.4 × 4.1 × 7.2 cm / 54 × 41 × 72 mm / 2.13 × 1.61 × 2.83 inch. Recorded weight: 302 g / 10.65 oz.
