About this specimen
Guangdong pyromorphite at 3 cm; a miniature, supplied in the display box shown. Pyromorphite in a bright lime green builds into a stacked group of short barrel crystals, each one glassy across its flat top and set at an angle to its neighbours.
Pyromorphite's resinous lustre and stacked hexagonal barrels make the Chinese examples so collectable; wash hands after handling.
Guangdong's Jinlong district is known for hematoid and chlorite-phantom quartz with specular hematite, alongside fluorite and calcite.
By size it is miniature, 3 × 2.2 × 1.1 cm (1.18 × 0.87 × 0.43 in). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
Contains lead-bearing minerals: wash hands after handling and keep away from children and pets.
