About this specimen
Guizhou aragonite at 15.5 cm; a large cabinet piece. The fibres are brittle at the tip — support the piece along its length when handling.
Aragonite grows as radiating or stacked crystals, a habit that gives the species its sculptural, coral-like look.
Guizhou is the classic source for collector creedite and hosts important fluorite, calcite and copper-mineral localities around Qinglong.
