About this specimen
Yunnan hemimorphite at 3.9 cm; a miniature. Hemimorphite in pale mint green covers the face of the piece in a rolling botryoidal crust, with two brown openings where the growth breaks over cavities beneath.
Hemimorphite's hallmark is sprays of transparent to sky-blue blades radiating from a common base.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
The piece is miniature in size, 3.9 × 3.1 × 1.3 cm (1.54 × 1.22 × 0.51 in). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
