About this specimen
Guangxi hemimorphite at 2.3 cm; a thumbnail, supplied in the display box shown. Hemimorphite grown as white bladed rosettes scattered across a dark khaki matrix, each rosette opening out from its own centre like a small flower against the rock.
Hemimorphite's hallmark is sprays of transparent to sky-blue blades radiating from a common base.
Guangxi's Daoping and Yangshuo districts produce the green pyromorphite, plumbogummite and calcite that made the province famous among collectors.
By size it is thumbnail, 2.3 × 1.6 × 1.4 cm (0.91 × 0.63 × 0.55 in). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
