About this specimen
An orange scheelite crystal and a pale aquamarine stand apart on a thin, silvery mat of layered mica from Xuebaoding, Sichuan.
The scheelite has a broad angled face that changes from warm amber to brighter orange with the lighting. Pale mica books crowd around its edges and form much of the rounded specimen, while the aquamarine rises on the opposite side with a frosted, irregular surface. An edge-on photograph shows how shallow the mica-covered body is; a higher oblique view exposes different crystal faces and their positions. Four complete supplier photographs and a rotating video show the same specimen on a clear display support. Visible lines, rough areas and small edge chips are present on the orange crystal, and the pale crystal has uneven surfaces; no flawless condition is claimed. The supplier identifies scheelite, aquamarine and mica from Xuebaoding. The mica species and inclusion composition are not specified.
