About this specimen
Small pale violet fluorite forms gather beside a much larger clear-looking calcite face. Fine pyrite sparkle and pale granular growth cover the surrounding matrix, with another broad calcite form projecting near the lower edge. The closer view separates the lightly colored fluorite from the larger transparent-looking planes. From the wider angle, the specimen has an irregular triangular outline in which the broad pale crystals frame the smaller violet group. Dimensions: 3.9 × 2.1 × 4.1 cm / 39 × 21 × 41 mm / 1.54 × 0.83 × 1.61 inch. Estimated weight: 35 g / 1.23 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
