About this specimen
Pale yellow calcite forms numerous rounded button-like groups over a siderite-bearing base. Larger overlapping faces occupy the upper section, while smaller pale disks extend toward the lower edges. The source notes that the specimen appears somewhat yellower in person than in the photographs. A closer view reveals the stepped thickness of neighboring forms and the soft internal reflections within them, creating a broad, densely arranged surface of warm translucent-looking calcite.
