About this specimen
Two glassy, colourless fluorite cubes with green-grey phantom zones inside, enclosing fine needles of grey bismuthinite along with mica flakes and a small quartz crystal. The needles are visible through the clear fluorite.
Inner Mongolia phantom fluorite with bismuthinite at 29 g; a thumbnail for the species collector, since bismuthinite inclusions in fluorite are rarely offered.
It measures 3.7 × 3.2 × 2.2 cm (1.46 × 1.26 × 0.87 in) and weighs 29 g (1 oz), a miniature-sized piece that fits a miniature cabinet or a desk display.
