About this specimen

Guizhou purple-edged fluorite at 10 cm and 290 g; a cabinet piece with graphic patterning.

Fluorite crystallises in the cubic system and is prized for its saturated colour, glassy lustre and the way zoned phantoms appear when the crystals are back-lit.

Guizhou's Qinglong antimony-fluorite district is the classic source for creedite sprays and continues to produce zoned fluorite and calcite.

Dimensions place it in the cabinet range, 10 × 6 × 4.3 cm (3.94 × 2.36 × 1.69 in) and 290 g (10.2 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.

Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
