About this specimen

One broad crystal does almost all the work on this Hunan fluorite. The front face is a single flat plane the width of two fingers, frosted rather than mirror-bright, and only along the right-hand edge does the growth break into a stair of smaller parallel cubes. Colour is barely there — ice-white shading to the faintest green at the edges, with a soft blue-grey phantom set deep inside the body of the stone.

That pale blue interior is a phantom — the earlier, smaller crystal this one grew around, still visible because the two growth stages differ slightly in colour. Nearly colourless material of this kind rewards backlighting, since a lamp set behind it pulls the phantom forward. Fluorite is Mohs 4 and cleaves cleanly on the octahedron, so it does not enjoy being shuffled about in a drawer.

5.3 × 4.3 × 2.5 cm, 85 g, shown in the hand for scale and supplied without a base. The specimen you receive is the one in front of the camera here.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
