About this specimen
Pale glacier-blue and very nearly transparent, this small Yaogangxian fluorite is built entirely of staircases: every cube edge breaks down into ranks of miniature cubes, so the silhouette reads more like a stepped pyramid than a block. A knot of khaki dolomite grips the underside, and a soft white cloud floats within where an earlier, smaller crystal was overgrown.
The stepping is hoppered growth. When the mineralising fluid is rich, edges and corners take up material faster than the centres of faces, and the faces are left behind as sunken terraces. The pale shape inside is a phantom — the surface of the crystal as it stood before growth resumed around it. Fluorite, CaF2, is Mohs 4 with perfect octahedral cleavage: lovely to look into, unforgiving of drops.
A thumbnail at 3.6 × 3.3 × 3.0 cm and 35 g, presented on the clear acrylic cube visible in the images. This is the actual crystal on offer, not a representative example.

Will I receive the exact specimen shown?
Yes. Every specimen is a single, one-of-a-kind piece, and the photographs show the exact item you will receive — never a stock photo.
Is this Fluorite natural?
Yes — specimens like this form naturally. As is standard in the trade, some pieces are gently cleaned or trimmed; we photograph the actual specimen and describe its origin and condition conservatively.
How is it packed and shipped?
Orders ship worldwide with fully insured, tracked delivery, carefully packed to protect fragile crystals.
Can I return it?
Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
