About this specimen
Sichuan smoky quartz at 6.5 cm and 49 g; a small cabinet piece, priced with the damage disclosed. A cluster of smoky quartz points with paler crystals at the side; the supplier notes some tips are damaged.
The smoky colour is natural and usually deepens toward the terminations while the prism bases stay clearer.
Sichuan hosts Xuebaoding, Jinkouhe and Leshan, sources of aquamarine, scheelite, prehnite, gypsum and the epidote-quartz skarn specimens seen here.
By size it is small cabinet, 3.6 × 2.1 × 6.5 cm (1.42 × 0.83 × 2.56 in) and 49 g (1.7 oz). Disclosed condition: some damaged tips. The price reflects it and the photographs show the affected area. Condition is otherwise as photographed.
