About this specimen

Honey runs right through this Beijing fluorite: one stepped cube, transparent gold in the body, with irregular orange-brown iron-oxide films spreading over the faces like continents drawn on a map. Parallel growth has offset the crystal into three or four terraces, and a small colourless crystal clings to the lower left corner.

Yellow is one of the less common fluorite colours out of China, and Beijing is an unusual address to find on a fluorite label at all. The staining is not damage but a record of iron-rich fluid moving through the vein after the crystal had stopped growing; it sits on the surface and in shallow fractures rather than through the body, which is why the interior still passes light cleanly.

Small and solid at 2.8 × 1.5 × 2.5 cm and 15 g. Photographed on the clear acrylic block it ships on — this is the crystal itself, not a stock image.

Can I return it?

Yes — there is a 14-day return window.
