황금빛 루틸 침이 가득 든 양단 석영 결정이 이 히말라야 모암 판의 정점을 이룹니다. 결정 내부는 금속질 실, 녹니석 구름, 철분에 물든 얼룩이 멈춘 채 몰아치는 폭풍 같습니다. 그 아래로는 물처럼 맑은 것도 있고 내포물로 뿌연 것도 있는 작은 기둥들이 황토빛 모암에서 제각각의 각도로 돋아 있습니다.
내포물이 든 석영은 그 자체로 하나의 연구 장르입니다. 여기 있는 결정 하나하나가 함께 자란 유체와 광물을 봉인해 둔 테라리엄입니다. 주 결정은 확대경으로 들여다볼수록 진가를 드러내는데, 초록색 녹니석을 배경으로 루틸이 황금빛 다발을 이루며 뻗어 있습니다.
히말라야 지역 산출이며, 구체적인 광산은 확인되지 않아 입수된 상태 그대로 판매합니다. 판형 표본의 크기는 9.3 × 6.9 × 6.6 cm, 무게는 220 g입니다. 사진은 바로 그 표본을 촬영한 것입니다.
