Xianghualing stepped green fluorite at 30 g; a perky-box single crystal.
Fluorite crystallises in the cubic system and is prized for its saturated colour, glassy lustre and the way zoned phantoms appear when the crystals are back-lit.
Xianghualing in Linwu County, Hunan, is a tin-fluorite skarn famous for sharp fluorite, cassiterite and the blue and green fluorite on quartz seen here.
By size it is miniature, 3.3 × 3.1 × 2.3 cm (1.30 × 1.22 × 0.91 in) and 30 g (1.1 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
