About this specimen
This sphere is almost entirely water-clear, which makes its one inclusion stand out all the more: a small heart-shaped flake of translucent green mica floating near the centre. The flake glows yellow-green in daylight, shows fine growth lines when you look closely, and carries a thin dark streak across one corner.
Because the quartz is so transparent, the sphere also works as a lens, flipping sky and buildings upside down around the heart. A few tiny specks are the only other inclusions. It is polished and sized to sit comfortably in the palm, and makes a thoughtful small gift or a centrepiece for a collection of inclusion spheres.
