About this specimen
Dark reflective mineral faces crowd a broad cluster with a contrasting strip of pale quartz along one side. The source records pyrrhotite and sphalerite as the darker associated minerals. Larger angular faces rise above smaller intergrown areas, producing a rough outline with several deep recesses. A closer view highlights changes from bronze-gray reflections to nearly black surfaces, while the pale quartz at the edge helps define the boundary of the dense Inner Mongolian mineral group. Dimensions: 10 × 5.5 × 8 cm / 100 × 55 × 80 mm / 3.94 × 2.17 × 3.15 inch. Estimated weight: 440 g / 15.52 oz, calculated from its dimensions.
